Regular Season Round 23: Cuxhaven - s.Oliver Baskets 68-67

The most exciting game of round 23 in the ProA took place in Cuxhaven. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked s Oliver Baskets (17-6) to thirteenth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (7-16) 68-67 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. s Oliver Baskets trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-68 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for American guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Timothy Burnette (188-82, college: Tarleton St.) responded with 12 points and forward Kevin Wysocki (198-87) scored 12 points. Four s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. s Oliver Baskets' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Freiburg and Jena. Newly promoted s Oliver Baskets keep the second position with six games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats is looking forward to face bottom-ranked ETB Wohnbau (#16) in Essen in the next round. s Oliver Baskets will play at home against Webmoebel Baskets (#8) in Paderborn and are hoping to win this game.
