Very important is a home loss of third ranked Erelita-KTU (14-23) against seventh ranked Puntukas (10-27) on Saturday night. Host Erelita-KTU was defeated by Puntukas in Kaunas 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Puntukas. Erelita-KTU was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Puntukas outrebounded Erelita-KTU 48-28 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Giedrius Marciukaitis (195-91) who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side power forward Rokas Cepanonis (207-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and guard Matas Sapiega (180-90) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists. Newly promoted Puntukas maintains seventh position with 10-27 record. Erelita-KTU at the other side keeps the third place with 23 games lost. Puntukas will play against higher ranked ABRO-Universitetas (#6) in Siauliai in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Erelita-KTU will have a break next round.
