The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dunav as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Montana 2003) loss. Dunav smashed bottom-ranked Slavia in Ruse 84-57. The game without a history. Dunav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 38. They outrebounded Slavia 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Zornitsa Kostova (176-82) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Hristina Minkova (184-72) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Dunav players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international center Aleksandra Delcheva (202-87) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mihaela Dilova (176-90) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings. Slavia will play next round against strong Lukoil trying to get back on the winning streak. Dunav will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Beroe 07 at Stara Zagora.
