Regular Season Round 38: BC Kyiv - Ferro-ZNTU 60-86

Date: March 6, 2011
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (19-17) smashed on the road bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (9-27) 86-60 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 20-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-60. American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Ricky Harris (188-87, college: Massachusetts) chipped in 12 points and 9 assists during the contest. Five Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. The former international forward Oleg Saltovets (202-77) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and guard Pavlo Burenko (188-90) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferro-ZNTU have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dnipro. Loser BC Kyiv stay dead last with 27 lost games. Ferro-ZNTU will have a break next round. BC Kyiv will play on the road against Hoverla (#3) in Frankivsk.
