Very expected game in Homburg where 12th ranked Science City Jena (7-16) was crushed by seventh ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (13-9) 86-41 on Sunday. The game without a history. Saar-Pfalz Braves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Science City Jena's 28. Science City Jena was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Stephen Cramer (188-84, college: Hope (MI)) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) helped adding 7 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. American guard Melvin Hall (183-85, college: S.Indiana) responded with 10 points and power forward Christoph Roquette (203-82) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Saar-Pfalz Braves moved-up to sixth place. Loser Science City Jena keeps the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Saar-Pfalz Braves will face BG Karlsruhe (#9) on the road in the next round. Science City Jena will play against Hannover Tigers in Hannover and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
