Very important is a home loss of third ranked BC Vienna (11-16) against fifth ranked St.Polten (9-18) on Wednesday night. Host BC Vienna was defeated by St.Polten in a tough game in Wien 79-85. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But BC Vienna won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. St.Polten forced 21 BC Vienna turnovers. Strangely BC Vienna outrebounded St.Polten 43-14 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for St.Polten especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. International forward Richard Poiger (201-87) nailed 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Thomas Schreiner (195-87, agency: R.H.Consultancy) accounted for 18 points. Four St.Polten players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Mike Coffin (194-70, college: Biola (CA)) came up with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Serbian center Nemanja Miljkovic (205-90) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for BC Vienna in the defeat. St.Polten maintains fifth place in Bundesliga with 9-18 record. BC Vienna at the other side keeps the third position with 16 games lost. St.Polten will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Vienna will play again on the road against St.Polten and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
