The game had a very big importance for second-ranked BC Donetsk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BC Donetsk defeated 10th ranked DniproAzot at home 90-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of DniproAzot. After very bad start, DniproAzot stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 2 points 41-39. But it was not enough and BC Donetsk took back the control in second half. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to DniproAzot's 26. They outrebounded DniproAzot 42-21 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. BC Donetsk players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by DniproAzot's players. It was a good game for Bosnian swingman Jasmin Hukic (204-79, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. The former international guard Maxim Balashov (189-80) answered with 24 points and American forward Bingo Merriex (204-80, college: TCU) added 11 points in the effort for DniproAzot. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the tenth place with 23 games lost. DniproAzot will play next round against Ferro-ZNTU trying to get back on the winning streak. BC Donetsk will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked BC Odessa on the road.
