Top ranked Silute (16-22) recorded its twentieth second loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Puntukas (11-28) 83-77. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Puntukas forced 19 Silute turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Andrius Urbonas (202-91) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Bobby Maze (188-86, college: Tennessee) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Puntukas' coach Gintautas Regina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Arvydas Vaitiekus (210-83, college: Marshalltown CC) who recorded 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Andrius Cizikas (197-88) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Four Puntukas and five Silute players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Puntukas maintains seventh position with 11-28 record. Silute at the other side dropped to the second place with 22 games lost. Puntukas are looking forward to face higher ranked Akademija (#4) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Silute will play on the road against Delikatesas in Joniskis and is hoping to win this game.
