Regular Season Round 24: ETB Wohnbau - Cuxhaven 89-85

Bottom-ranked ETB Wohnbau managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against thirteenth-ranked Cuxhaven BasCats in Essen 89-85. Cuxhaven BasCats were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for ETB Wohnbau especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate) who added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. ETB Wohnbau (7-17) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Cuxhaven BasCats. ETB Wohnbau will meet higher ranked Webmoebel Baskets (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against Kirchheim Knights (#7) and hope to secure a win.
