Leader Bayern Muenchen delivered the twentieth third victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (14-10) 69-58. The game was mostly controlled by Bayern Muenchen. Crailsheim Merlins was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Crailsheim Merlins outrebounded Bayern Muenchen 44-30 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Crailsheim Merlins helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Serbian forward Aleksandar Nadjfeji (203-76) who scored that evening 20 points and international guard Steffen Hamann (194-81) supported him with 14 points. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Frank Young (196-84, college: W.Virginia) did not help to save the game for Crailsheim Merlins. His fellow American import point guard Kameron Gray (186-82, college: Oklahoma City) added 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayern Muenchen (23-1) have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. Bayern Muenchen's next round opponent will be BG Karlsruhe (#9) at home and are hoping to win another game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against GiroLive-Ballers in Osnabrueck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
