The most exciting game of round 26 in the LMKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked MRU (8-14) to fourth ranked LKKA-Aistes (9-13) 73-70 in the game for the fourth place. MRU was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded MRU 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard Santa Okockyte (176-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 8 assists. Forward Kornelija Balciunaite (176-81) contributed with 5 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sarune Povilionyte (182-88) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and center Inga Aleksaite (193-89) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for MRU. Five MRU players scored in double figures. LKKA-Aistes maintains fourth position with 9-13 record. MRU at the other side keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. LKKA-Aistes are looking forward to face Utena (#6) at home in the next round. MRU will play against the league's leader VICI Kaunas and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
