Eleventh-ranked Leipzig Eagles (6-17) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Heli Donau-Ries (15-8) on Saturday. The visitors from Donauwoerth managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Leipzig Eagles were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Slovakian center Dasa Rajecka (189-87) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international power forward Sabine Loewe (191-82, college: San Diego) supported her with 20 points. Even 25 points by American forward Candace Williams (183-88, college: New Hampshire) did not help to save the game for Leipzig Eagles. Her fellow American import forward Lacey Haughian (188-86, college: Black Hills St.) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four Leipzig Eagles players scored in double figures. Heli Donau-Ries moved-up to the fourt place. Leipzig Eagles lost fifth consecutive game. They occupued the eleventh position with 17 games lost.
