Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Pitesti (15-11) defeated at home 12th ranked CSM Bucuresti (11-14) 78-68. CSM Bucuresti was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 22-8 third quarter run of Pitesti. Strangely CSM Bucuresti outrebounded Pitesti 41-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. American guard Donte Gennie (185-83, college: Georgia Southern, agency: Basket Law/NM Services) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Serbian swingman Ivan Stefanovic (201-80, agency: World Sport Agency) contributed with 11 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Mario Bennett (207-73, college: Arizona St.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for CSM Bucuresti. Pitesti moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Oradea and Otopeni. CSM Bucuresti lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Pitesti's next round opponent will be Politehnica Iasi (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. CSM Bucuresti will play against CSU Sibiu.
