Very important is a road loss of Silute (16-23) against Delikatesas (14-25) on Friday night. Visiting Silute was defeated by Delikatesas in a tough game in Joniskis 78-87. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Delikatesas forced 20 Silute turnovers. Strangely Silute outrebounded Delikatesas 38-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Vytautas-Edvardas Pikalavicius (196-90) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Ukrainian guard Klym Artamonov (176-93) accounted for 14 points and 10 assists for the winning side. Swingman Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and center Arvydas Vaitiekus (210-83, college: Marshalltown CC) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Silute in the defeat. Four Delikatesas and five Silute players scored in double figures. Delikatesas maintains fifth place in Group B with 14-25 record. Loser Silute keeps the second position with 23 games lost. Delikatesas will meet higher ranked Erelita-KTU (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Silute will play against Akademija in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
