Bottom-ranked Gloria Giants managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive loses on Friday night. This time they edged fifteenth-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC in Weissenfels 81-80. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 25-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-7. Gloria Giants made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Gloria Giants are looking forward to face higher ranked Phoenix Hagen (#13) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against the league's leader Brose Baskets where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
