Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Craiova (6-21) beat on the road bottom-ranked Brasov (1-26) 83-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 44-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Craiova forced 21 Brasov turnovers. Brasov was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Jermont Horton (198-83, college: Rutgers-Newark) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Casey Wohlleb (201-86, college: Florida Gulf Coast) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Wohlleb is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Radu Paliciuc (198-88) who recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin center Zeljko Bubanja (210-73) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Four Brasov players scored in double figures. Craiova maintains thirteenth place with 6-21 record. Brasov lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Craiova will face higher ranked Timisoara (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brasov will play against Oradea (#8).
