Regular Season Round 42: Budivelnyk - Mykolaiv 68-65

Sixth-ranked Mykolaiv (21-19) made lots of trouble for first ranked Budivelnyk (31-10) in Kyiv on Saturday. Budivelnyk managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was British center Andrew Betts (216-77, college: Long Beach St.) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Artem Butskyy (185-81) who recorded 16 points and American swingman Brian Greene (196-83, college: Florida A&M) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Budivelnyk have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-10 record. Mykolaiv at the other side keeps the sixth place with 19 games lost. Budivelnyk are looking forward to face Khimik (#12) in Yuzhny in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Mykolaiv will play at home against Dnipro (#8) in Dnepropetrovsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
