Regular Season Round 42: BC Kyiv - Mykolaiv 54-66

There was no surprise when 13th ranked BC Kyiv (10-30) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Mykolaiv (21-19) 66-54 on Monday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mykolaiv dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Kyiv to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Love (188-78, college: St.Louis) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import center James Hughes (211-83, college: N.Illinois, agency: Basket Law/NM Services) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Maksym Sandul (207-91) who recorded 8 points and 10 rebounds and guard Vladyslav Podolyan (195-86) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mykolaiv maintains sixth position with 21-19 record. Loser BC Kyiv stay dead last with 30 lost games. Mykolaiv will face Dnipro (#8) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round. BC Kyiv will play on the road against Ferro-ZNTU (#5) in Zaporozhye.
