LKL top team - Zalgiris (19-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Aiscai Kaunas (6-14) 78-57. It looked good early as Aiscai Kaunas took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zalgiris had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Aiscai Kaunas was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-78. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Aiscai Kaunas' 24 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Paulius Jankunas (205-84, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points. At the losing side the former international guard Vytenis Jasikevicius (187-85) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Povilas Cukinas (210-83) scored 5 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for Zalgiris. They maintain first place with 19-0 record. Aiscai Kaunas lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Zalgiris will play against league's second-placed Lietuvos Rytas in Vilnius in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aiscai Kaunas will play at home against Neptunas (#8) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
