Regular Season Round 25: Perlas - Lietuvos rytas 63-86

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vilnius: Lietuvos Rytas (#2) and Perlas (#7). Perlas was crushed at home by 23 points 63-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perlas. The game without a history. Lietuvos Rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Lietuvos Rytas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Brad Newley (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian forward Kenan Bajramovic (206-81, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Lietuvos Rytas' coach Aleksandar Trifunovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) answered with 17 points and guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) added 12 points in the effort for Perlas. Lietuvos Rytas (17-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place having just two points less than leader Zalgiris. Perlas at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Lietuvos Rytas are looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Perlas will play at home against Juventus (#4) in Utena and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
