Ninth-ranked Nevezis (6-12) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Siauliai (11-7) in Kedainiai on Tuesday. The visitors from Siauliai managed to secure only six-point victory 94-88. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nevezis won third quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Nevezis used huge pressure winning it 26-19 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-16. Siauliai made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Croatian power forward Mario Delas (207-90) nailed 29 points for the winning side and American-Samoan guard Rashaun Broadus (182-84, college: BYU) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Lukas Brazdauskis (203-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Siauliai maintains fifth place with 11-7 record. Loser Nevezis keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Siauliai will meet at home higher ranked Rudupis (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against Sakalai (#10) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
