Regular Season Round 43: BC Odessa - Dnipro 98-95

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Dnipro (19-21) was edged on the road by tenth ranked BC Odessa (17-26) 98-95 on Wednesday. Dnipro was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BC Odessa dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Dnipro's 38 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Andrew Washington (191-84, college: Delaware) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 assists. Nigerian power forward Ejike Ugboaja (204-85) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Washington is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) answered with 41 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut, agency: Edge Sports) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dnipro. BC Odessa maintains tenth place with 17-26 record. Dnipro lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 21 games lost. BC Odessa will face higher ranked Hoverla (#4) in Frankivsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
