Regular Season Round 44: Dnipro - DniproAzot 75-67

There was no surprise in Dnepropetrovsk where 9th ranked DniproAzot (18-25) was defeated by seventh ranked Dnipro (21-21) 75-67. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But DniproAzot won fourth quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (204-89) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Canadian power forward Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklahoma Baptist, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Maxim Balashov (189-80) added 20 points in the effort for DniproAzot. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Dnipro maintains seventh position with 21-21 record. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the ninth place with 25 games lost. They's next round opponent will be league's leader BC Donetsk at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
