There was no surprise in Barreiro where 9th ranked Guifoes (7-14) were defeated by fifth ranked Galitos FC (14-7) 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guifoes were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Galitos FC players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American swingman Malcolm Thomas (196-85, college: Widener) nailed 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Rui Quintino (196-83) accounted for 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Joao David (198) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Miguel Faria (187-80) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Guifoes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galitos FC moved-up to third place, which they share with Angra. Newly promoted Guifoes keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Galitos FC's next round opponent will be Povoa (#6) at home. Guifoes will play against Seixal.
