Regular Season Round 28: Lietkabelis - Perlas 66-58
Date: April 2, 2011
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Techasas (13-10) beat 8th ranked Perlas (9-13) in Panevezys 66-58 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Perlas won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Techasas won last quarter 13-6. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Perlas to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Techasas forced 21 Perlas turnovers. The winners were led by guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 steals and the former international center Darius Silinskis (216-84, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 6 points and 10 rebounds. Even 10 points and 5 assists by forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) did not help to save the game for Perlas. Forward Vilmantas Dilys (208-87) added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Perlas' coach Roberts Stelmahers rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Techasas moved-up to fifth place. Loser Perlas keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Techasas will meet league's second-placed Lietuvos Rytas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Perlas will play against Neptunas (#7) in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
