Regular Season Round 27: Cuxhaven - Karlsruhe 88-77

We should mention about the upset which took place in Cuxhaven, where higher ranked BG Karlsruhe (12-15) lost to thirteenth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (10-17) in a road game 77-88. BG Karlsruhe was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 50-27 second half run of Cuxhaven BasCats. They made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Aaron Cook (186-83, college: Hartford) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) accounted for 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Rouven Roessler (200-80) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds and guard Flavio Stuckemann (187-85) added 17 points respectively for BG Karlsruhe in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cuxhaven BasCats. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Heidelberg and ETB Wohnbau. BG Karlsruhe at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Cuxhaven BasCats' next round opponent will be league's leader Bayern Muenchen on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
