There was no surprise in Duesseldorf where 18th ranked Gloria Giants (5-25) were defeated by twelfth ranked Phoenix Hagen (13-17) 88-80. It looked good early as Gloria Giants took an 13-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Phoenix Hagen took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. It was a good game for American forward Jacob Burtschi (198-84, college: Air Force) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Mark Dorris (188-85, college: Marshall) contributed with 23 points and 6 assists for the winners.
