Regular Season Round 28: Juventus - Zalgiris 77-93

LKL top team - Zalgiris (22-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Juventus (12-10) in Utena 93-77. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Juventus was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Paulius Jankunas (205-84, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and international forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82, agency: Interperformances) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Aurimas Adomaitis (206-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Zydrunas Urbonas (198-76) scored 17 points. Five Juventus players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive 22-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-0 record. Juventus at the other side dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. Zalgiris will play against Naglis-Adakris (#12) in Palanga in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Juventus will play on the road against Siauliai (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
