The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sofia: Lukoil Academik (#1) and Levski (#2). Levski was crushed at home by 33 points 63-96 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Lukoil Academik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Levski's 30 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Levski 41-25 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lukoil Academik looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-80, college: High School, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Lukoil Academik players scored in double figures. American swingman Aaron Harper (199-81, college: Mississippi, agency: Strategic Sports) responded with 22 points and the former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lukoil Academik (24-0) have an impressive series of twenty four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 24 victories in a row. Levski at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Lukoil Academik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Levski will play at home against Euroins Cherno More in Varna and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
