Regular Season Round 46: Halychyna - Khimik 85-75

Date: April 4, 2011
The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Halychyna's (17-29) home victory over 12th ranked Khimik (14-31) in Lviv 85-75 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Halychyna. Khimik managed to win second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halychyna looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Todd Abernethy (185-84, college: Mississippi) supported him with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by American guard Curtis Millage (185-81, college: Arizona St.) did not help to save the game for Khimik. The former international swingman Alexander Kolchenko (198-88) added 16 points for lost side. Halychyna have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with BC Odessa. Loser Khimik keeps the twelfth position with 31 games lost. Halychyna will meet at home higher ranked Mykolaiv (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Khimik will have a break next round.
