Everything went according to plan in Vilnius where second ranked Lietuvos Rytas (19-4) beat 5th ranked Techasas (13-11) 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos Rytas. Techasas was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International swingman Simas Jasaitis (202-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lietuvos Rytas' coach Aleksandar Trifunovic used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) added 12 points in the effort for Techasas. Five Lietuvos Rytas and four Techasas players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-4 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris. Techasas at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Lietuvos Rytas' next round opponent will be Aiscai Kaunas (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game.
