Regular Season Round 29: Naglis Palangos - Nevezis 76-77

A very close game took place in Palanga between Nevezis and Naglis-Adakris. Ninth ranked Nevezis (9-14) got a very close victory on the road over 12th ranked Naglis-Adakris (6-17). Nevezis managed to escape with a 1-point win 77-76 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Naglis-Adakris won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nevezis made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Paulius Belevicius (193-88) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Swiss guard Rolandas Alijevas (192-85) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Raimundas Danys (198-85) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Chris Lowe (183-87, college: Massachusetts) added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Nevezis and five Naglis-Adakris players scored in double figures. Nevezis maintains ninth place with 9-14 record. Naglis-Adakris lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Nevezis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Naglis-Adakris will play against Alytus Alita (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
