Regular Season Round 28: Crailsheim - Freiburg 93-87

Date: April 9, 2011
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (15-13) beat at home 14th ranked USC Freiburg (9-19) 93-87. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were ahead by 8 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 30-22 run, which allowed them to win the game. Crailsheim Merlins made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. American forward Reggie Fuller (198-86, college: Binghamton) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Congolese power forward Blanchard Obiango (202-88) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Ingo Enskat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Paul Gause (180-86, college: Seton Hall, agency: Basket Law/NM Services) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Jamar Nutter (188-84, college: Seton Hall) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four USC Freiburg players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to sixth place. USC Freiburg lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be USC Heidelberg (#12) on the road where they are favorite. USC Freiburg will play against BG Karlsruhe.
