TBL top team - Fenerbahce Ulker (22-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Karsiyaka (16-9) in Istanbul 82-66. The game was mostly controlled by Fenerbahce Ulker. Karsiyaka managed to win third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce Ulker dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Karsiyaka's 38 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Fenerbahce Ulker had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian guard Roko-Leni Ukic (195-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Oguz Savas (208-87) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. Serbian center Jovo Stanojevic (208-77, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Andre Smith (203-85, college: N.Dakota St.) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Karsiyaka. Karsiyaka's coach Hakan Demir rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fenerbahce Ulker have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-3 record. Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker are looking forward to face Tofas (#9) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karsiyaka will play at home against Besiktas in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
