Very expected game when 13th ranked Aliaga (7-18) lost at home to fourth ranked Efes Pilsen (18-7) 88-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-76. Efes Pilsen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Serbian guard Igor Rakocevic (191-78) nailed 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and international power forward Kerem Gonlum (208-77) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. Efes Pilsen's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) came up with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Michael James (184-75, college: Duquesne) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Aliaga in the defeat. Efes Pilsen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 18-7 record. Loser Aliaga keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Mersin and Bornova. Efes Pilsen will meet at home Bornova (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aliaga will play against Mersin in Akdeniz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
