LPB top team - FC Porto Ferpinta (21-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked CAB (10-12) 83-71. The game was mostly controlled by FC Porto Ferpinta. CAB was better in third quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Porto Ferpinta made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. FC Porto Ferpinta forced 19 CAB turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Carlos Andrade (197-78, college: Queens, NC) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Miguel Miranda (205-78) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five FC Porto Ferpinta players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Nathan Menefee (182-85, college: Evergreen St., agency: RIZO) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Jaime Silva (187-80) scored 7 points, 11 assists and 8 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FC Porto Ferpinta have an impressive 13-game winning streak. FC Porto Ferpinta clinched the first position with 21-1 record. CAB at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost.
