Not a big story in a game in Vilnius where 10th ranked Aiscai Kaunas (8-16) was defeated by second ranked Lietuvos Rytas (20-4) 91-75 on Tuesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Lietuvos Rytas's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-11 extending their advantage to 16 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Aiscai Kaunas' 36. They outrebounded Aiscai Kaunas 39-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. Lietuvos Rytas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Jonas Valanciunas (210-92) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Bosnian forward Kenan Bajramovic (206-81, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 14 points. Lietuvos Rytas' coach Aleksandar Trifunovic used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Adomas Drungilas (203-90) who recorded 18 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Lietuvos Rytas have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion claimed the second position with 20-4 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris. Loser Aiscai Kaunas keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost.
