Regular Season Round 48: BC Odessa - Khimik 79-100

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Khimik (15-31) smashed on the road 10th ranked BC Odessa (17-30) 100-79 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to BC Odessa's 40. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Akida McLain (206-86, college: Indiana, PA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82) who added 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian power forward Ejike Ugboaja (204-85) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Patrick Sparks (184-83, college: Kentucky, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Five Khimik and four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimik maintains twelfth position with 15-31 record. BC Odessa lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 30 games lost. They share the position with Halychyna. Khimik will meet at home higher ranked Kryvbasbasket (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Odessa will have a break next round.
