Sixth-ranked Ferro-ZNTU (24-23) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Budivelnyk (36-11) in Zaporozhye on Thursday. The visitors from Kyiv managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 28-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal used entire bench in such tough game. Belarusian forward Heorhi Kandrusevich (198-78, agency: Promotex) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ferro-ZNTU. Budivelnyk have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 36-11 record, which they share with BC Donetsk. Ferro-ZNTU lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Dnipro. Budivelnyk is looking forward to face league's second-placed BC Donetsk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ferro-ZNTU will play against Khimik (#12) in Yuzhny and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
