Regular Season Round 32: Duesseldorf - Ratiopharm 79-66

There was an upset in Duesseldorf where higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (12-20) was defeated by bottom-ranked Gloria Giants (6-26) 79-66 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Gloria Giants made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard DeAndre Haynes (187-84, college: Kent St.) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American center John Bryant (208-87, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Robin Benzing (208-89) added 14 points and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gloria Giants maintains eighteenth position with 6-26 record. ratiopharm Ulm lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Gloria Giants will face higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (#15) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
