Very important is a road loss of third ranked Banvit (19-7) against tenth ranked Turk Telekom (10-16) on Saturday night. Visiting Banvit was defeated by Turk Telekom in a tough game in Ankara 67-73. Banvit was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 29-15 third quarter run of Turk Telekom. Guard Mehmet Yagmur (188-87) notched 19 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and American power forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 16 points and 5 assists by the former international guard Baris Ermis (194-85) did not help to save the game for Banvit. American-Azerbaijan forward Charles Davis (202-84, college: Alabama) added 13 points and 4 blocks for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turk Telekom moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tofas. Banvit at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Efes Pilsen. Turk Telekom will play against Aliaga (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Banvit will play against Trabzonspor (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
