Nadezhda Orenburg was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 11-10 charge of Spartak Vidnoye, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-7. Spartak Vidnoye made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Nadezhda Orenburg turnovers. Strangely Nadezhda Orenburg outrebounded Spartak Vidnoye 47-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Israeli-American guard Sue Bird (175-80, college: Connecticut) who scored 19 points and 6 assists. Naturalized American guard Epiphanny Prince (175-88, college: Rutgers) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Oksana Zakalyuzhnaya (197-77) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Olga Ovcharenko (184-79) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
