There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Tofas (11-17) beat higher ranked Olin Edirne (16-12) in Bursa 68-63 on Saturday. Olin Edirne trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 26-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-68 at the end of the game. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Olin Edirne's 26. They outrebounded Olin Edirne 41-24 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jason Rowe (178-78, college: Loyola, MD) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Croatian power forward Tomislav Ruzic (208-79) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Tofas' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. FYR Macedonian center Predrag Samardjiski (214-86, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Can Akin (190-83, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 18 points in the effort for Olin Edirne. Tofas moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Turk Telekom. Newly promoted Olin Edirne keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Tofas will face higher ranked Antalya (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
