Second Stage Round 11: Elektra - Maribor Messer 80-79

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Telemach League took place in Sostanj. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Maribor Messer (2-9) to eighth ranked Elektra (2-9) 80-79 in the game for the seventh place. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 21-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was center Salih Nuhanovic (209-82) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Marjan Vidovic (191-83) chipped in 16 points. Forward Sasa Mucic (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian power forward Ilija Zolotic (207-86, agency: BeoExcell) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Elektra and five Maribor Messer players scored in double figures. Elektra moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Maribor Messer. Elektra is looking forward to face higher ranked Geoplin Slovan (#5) in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maribor Messer will play at home against Helios in Domzale and is hoping to win this game.
