The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Spartak St.Petersburg won second period 27-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Spartak St.Petersburg outrebounded BC Nizhny Novgorod 35-19 including 26 on the defensive glass. 31 personal fouls committed by Spartak St.Petersburg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Nemanja Protic (182-86) who scored 18 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Semen Antonov (202-89, agency: RU-Basket Management) chipped in 21 points. Five BC Nizhny Novgorod players scored in double figures. American guard Patrick Beverley (185-88, college: Arkansas) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and FYR Macedonian-Bulgarian forward Pero Antic (210-82, agency: Interperformances) added 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
