Regular Season Round 20: Tim-Scuf - Yuzhna Palmira 72-59

UPBL top team - Tim-Scuf (16-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Yuzhna Palmira (6-12) in Kyiv 72-59. It looked good early as Yuzhna Palmira took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tim-Scuf had a 13-2 second period charge getting the lead and Yuzhna Palmira was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-72. Tim-Scuf dominated on the defensive end, holding Yuzhna Palmira to just 2 points in second quarter. They also forced 23 Yuzhna Palmira turnovers. Strangely Yuzhna Palmira outrebounded Tim-Scuf 44-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Inna Faskhutdinova (182-84) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 4 assists and guard Yuliya Berezinets (172-90) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Tim-Scuf players scored in double figures. Guard Alisa Siromatnikova (165-87) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian center Dragana Vukovic (190-78) scored 8 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Tim-Scuf have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-2 record. Yuzhna Palmira at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
