The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unics Kazan won third quarter 28-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimky dominated on the defensive end, holding Unics Kazan to just 4 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Unics Kazan 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Unics Kazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Croatian-Bosnian guard Zoran Planinic (199-82) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Eritrean-Polish swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, college: Washington St., agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 10 points. Polish-Swedish center Maciej Lampe (210-85) produced 17 points and the former international guard Petr Samoylenko (185-77) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Unics Kazan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
