Regular Season Round 3: Bakken - Horsholm 69-36

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Horsholm's (1-2) road loss to leader Bakken (2-0) 36-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Horsholm was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Horsholm to just 2 points in second and third quarters and to 14 points in first half. They outrebounded Horsholm 38-27 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. German center Mike Dejworek (210-87, college: Citadel) chipped in 14 points. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Joe Benjamin (201-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Philip Hertz (210-92) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Svendborg. Horsholm at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Bakken will face league's leader Naestved at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Horsholm will play against Horsens IC (#10) in Horsens.
