Regular Season Round 1: Proleter Naftagas - Vojvodina 76-90

Very significant was Vojvodina's 90-76 road victory against bottom-ranked Proleter Naftagas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Vojvodina. Proleter Naftagas was better in second period 31-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vojvodina shot 63.3 percent from the field. Strangely Proleter Naftagas outrebounded Vojvodina 29-17 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Center Dusko Bunic (207-89) nailed 23 points for the winning side and guard Slobodan Dundjerski (190-88, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Center Zoran Majkic (207-78, agency: Court Side) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Bogdan Obrenovic (206-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Proleter Naftagas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Proleter Naftagas' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Vojvodina went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with 6 other teams. Proleter Naftagas at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Vojvodina will play against OKK Beograd (#4) at home in the next round. Proleter Naftagas will play against Zeleznicar in Indija and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
