Regular Season Round 2: Phoenix Hagen - Telekom Baskets 83-95

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Phoenix Hagen (0-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Telekom Baskets (2-0) 95-83 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. Phoenix Hagen was better in second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telekom Baskets shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Telekom Baskets had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist) who scored 21 points and 8 assists. Telekom Baskets will face LTi 46ers (#17) in Giessen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Phoenix Hagen will play on the road against BBC Bayreuth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
